| Cabro Extra of Guatemala
by Zelduh Fitzgerald When the hot summer sun makes my scalp sweat and my breasts sticky, I crave SALT and the delicious, spicy foods of Latin America. Visions of summer vacation in a strange land run through my head. I long for the new smells of people, flowers, and foods; the unusual sounds of strange instruments and animals; and the savoring of delicious morsels of foods I swore I would never eat. |
| Unfortunately,
with little time for vacation, I'll be living vicariously through my fantasies
this summer. Happily, there's Cabro, a tasty light beer from
Guatemala to help me dream. Cabro takes me back to vacation days
spent south of the US border. Cabro is missing that bitterness and
citrus taste you find in beers like Famosa.
Cabro has a delicate grain taste that is well balanced and finishes quietly.
Cabro is slightly darker than the usual thin, yellow domestic beers.
It's almost golden.
Fabulous with chili spiced foods. I've never been a light beer fan, always preferring stouts and strong weisses- until now. This one is highly recommended for a hot summer day. Don't forget to add a side of tortillas with beans and salsa. (Rating ****) |
