Mad River Brewing Company's Jamaica Brand Red Ale
by F. Sot Fitzgerald

Out of Humboldt County, California comes yet another fine brew by Mad River Brewing Company.  Why the hell is it called Jamaica Brand Red Ale?  I have no clue.  It sure doesn't taste like that watery beer, Red Stripe.  Nor is it anything like Killian's.

Beer geeks will be intrested in the following stats about this beer:

ABW:  4.78
ABV:  6.0
S. GRAVITY:  1.065
F. GRAVITY:  1.014
IBU:  38

The rest of the drinking world will be more interested to hear that this is a spectacular beer.  It's malty, highly and intricately hopped, and it has an utterly unique, bold taste.  This one is just marvelous to swish about your mouth.   No b.s., this is one you must seek out.

Highly Recommended. (Rating ****1/2)
