Bacardi O Rum

Of late, there's been a number of flavored spirits hitting the market. Whether one speaks of casked single malt scotches (sherry, port, etc.), vodkas (from pepper to vanilla and raspberry) or rum, the notion is the same- give the customers something new to enjoy. There's a fuzzy line between having "the usual" and being in an unimaginative drink rut.

So here we have Bacardi O ($13-$16), a water clear rum flavored with Mandarin oranges from Sicily, Valencia oranges from Florida, and Tangerines from Israel and the South Pacific. Well- talk about multiculturalism!

Bacardi O noses of baby aspirin, but in the mouth is more aggressive, showing orange, orange rind, and again, baby aspirin. Since it's 70 proof, you can pour it on ice and knock it back. Or, you can use it to jazz up your cosmopolitan...or have it with tonic...or cranberry...or...(Rating***1/2)
