10/18/2002 LAFOND SRH SANTA YNEZ VALLEY SYRAH 2000 The SRH stands for Santa Rita Hills appellation, in case you were curious. We were- sorta, until we tasted this wine, then WHOOOSH, all our concerns about the who, what, and were melted away. This is a lovely wine. Though a hefty 14.8% alcohol, there's nothing boozey about it. It's velvety in the mouth and viscous. It's perfumey, spicy, and jammy. This is a great bottle for restaurants to carry because they can jack the price into the $30's and customers will still be delighted with the bang for the buck. Hats off to LaFond Winery and WineSellers Ltd.
