12/27/2002 STERLING VINEYARDS CABERNET SAUVIGNON RESERVE 1999
Wow- this is quite a cabernet! Actually, it's actually not all Cabernet; it has roughly 5% merlot and 5% petit verdot. Anyway- it's a big wine that offers vanilla heaped upon luscious fruit with a dash of baking spices. Oh, my! (Rating ****1/4)

12/22/2002 TE KAIRANGA MARTINBOROUGH RESERVE CHARDONNAY 2001
A huge Chardonnay in every sense. This New Zealand white weighs in at 14.9% alcohol and is great for quaffing or would pair superbly with lobster and fish. It offers up passion fruit, vanilla, and generally screams out, TROPICAL. (Rating ****)

12/10/2002 LAFOND SANTA YNEZ VALLEY PINOT NOIR 2000
We love Lafond's packaging- simple grocery bag brown label, large black print. We also like what we find in Lafond bottles. Take this Pinot Noir, for example. It's a mild red with ample notes of fruit, lavender, and a touch of boysenberry. Swirl, swallow, and smile. (Rating ***3/4)
