Banfi Brut
by Kevin R. Kosar

The first bad sparkling wine moment I had was on Prom Night.  I had been coerced into inviting a gal out, putting out cash for a limo, and more cash for an Italian sparkling wine, which everyone kept mistakenly calling Champagne.  The stuff was dry that nearly all of us gagged.  Worse, because we thought it was something special, we made out selves keep drinking it until we were nearly nauseous.  Dummies.

Too bad we hadn't a few bottles of Banfi Brut Metodo Tradizionale Classico.  We would have actually enjoyed the drinking.

Banfi Brut has teeny bubbles that feel great in the mouth and exhibits a great balance between the crispness imparted by the tiny bubbles and the medium viscosity.

Banfi Brut shows off a sour apple note, a slight toasty taste, and a light floral note.

It will run you about $22 a bottle and is worth every penny of it and more.  Serve it chilled but not icy. (Rating ***3/4)1
