Starboard Batch 88 Ruby Port
by F. Sot Fitzgerald

Andrew Quady has done it again.  I was bowled over by Quady's dry and sweet Vya vermouths.  They're excellent and so is Quady's Batch 88 Starboard, which is a ruby port.  So why call it Starboard instead of port?  Well, port has traditionally been made in Portugal, while Quady works his magic in California.  So if one stands in England and looks south, Portugal is on the port side (the left) of the Atlantic while the U.S. is on the starboard side (the right).  Clever, no?
